Ford v10 no oil pressure

Anytime you replace any oil pump the system should be primed , that is, filled with oil so the gears don't get air bound. You may need to use oil under pressure to charge the system so the gears will pick up the oil from the pan. If you replaced the oil filter at the same time when the assy was replaced that means the filter is empty and so is the entire oil pump system. It will not pump air.!

Can I prime the oil system where the oil sensor screws in to the block ? and can I use a hand priming pump ?

Today's oil filters have an anti-drainback valve incorporated in them and I do not believe adding oil at the pressure switch area will get the job done. You might have better success doing it at the oil filter location with the filter off of course because the oil is pumped through the filter before it goes to the rest of the engine.
