Starter sticking on power stroke
I have a problem with a '96 f250 7.3 power stroke. Once the key is turned the starter will keep running (cranking the engine). I have replaced starter sol. assy. slave sol. assy. ( in outboards I have had a ton of these stick on) After doing all that the dang thing still will not stop. The only way it will quit cranking is to pull the battery wires off. Now sence it has done this I have not been able to get it running but I have not tryed. don't want to burn out the starter. I can tell that there is no power on the slave when the key is off and motor cranking over (checked it with a VOA).I must be missing something. Has anyone had trouble like this?

RE: Starter sticking on power stroke
I found "trace" voltage my starter sol assy. No power in the off postion but I have 5.9VDC in the run postion. I have a bad key switch. I assume there is a box on the steering tube that houses the key switch.
