Parking brake adjustment F350

1999 F 350 2 WD, 7.3 Engine, 6 speed trans, standard cab and bed

How do you adjust the parking brake?
I Have turned the two adjustment star wheels on each of the rear wheels until there is a slight drag with the PB off.
When I press the brake lever down (It goes all the way to the floor) I only get a very slight braking effect. Not enough to hold the truck on a very moderate incline.
I have examined the cables end to end and fine no other adjustments.
What am I missing?
Thank you.
Regards,
Eric

Sounds like the cables have stretched.

Where the 2 secondary/rear cables meet the primary at the cable equalizer, are both rear cables the same length?, the equalizer isn't 'tipped' in either direction? If all the cables look and check good, you might install a cable slack adjuster in the primary cable along the frame run. Inexpensive, and an option over changing out cables, or at least for now.. New is always better when it comes to cables and brakes tho. ;-)

Hay,
The equalizer is even (not "tipped")
OK. I was thinking along the same lines of stretched cables too. I can machine up an adjuster in the shop.
Thank you!
All the best,
Eric
