Side mirrors 2001 F250
Hi!
I just purchased a 2001 F250 Super Duty Lariat 7.3 powerstroke in France. I believe I am the only owner of such a truck down here in our country We only see F150 on the roads I have a simple stupid question.... given the fact that our roads are much more narrow than yours, I'm a bit annoyed by the size of the side mirrors. Especially the arms. (picture in my profile) When I am towing my horses's van, it's perfect, but when I am NOT hauling, I'd like to be able to set the mirrors to a more "narrow" position I am reading here and there that these mirrors are "telescopic", but I really don't understant how to get them to reduce or enlarge. I pushed, pulled, etc... but it does not move and I don't dare forcing stronger Can anybody tell me if it works and how? Many many thks in advance! Fabrice |
Welcome to the site and congratulations on the new rig..
The TT mirrors do require some force to get them to slide in/out. Looking at your profile image they look to be in the extended out position. They range about 2" of total extension. If you place both hands on the outer bezel/head and push they should slide with a moderate amount of force. Same with extending, grab between the TT arms on the mirror head and pull.. If the TT's are still too wide retracted, you can always swap out for the base Euro style mirror that is a fixed position unit and fit closer in on the truck. Then, if towing a wide load you can purchase separate mirror extensions that clip on to the door mounted units... |
Many thks Hayapower. Yes, this worked. In fact they were not extended... bad news... it's worse... I guess I'll have to adapt to this size, or go for your suggestion with a European model
Thks again ! Fabrice |
