Source of used F350/450's
 

Hello all. New member of the forum but have been using the super duty my whole career as a paramedic firefighter..

I am wondering if someone can point me toward a source of dependable superduties at a decent price. Here on the east coast they are not cheap even with high mileage. Would prefer 2011 and later but a low milage 2008 could me made to work.

Are there auction houses in Tx or other places that you know of that deal with good deals on Super duty trucks. I would accept Dodge or gm if the deal was worth it- Thks

A lot of the brokers list in Craigslist, as do many used/new dealers. I've been to our power company and county auctions and usually the nice trucks get bought in a bid frenzy or overbid and didn't seem to be a good enough deal at those prices given they were used commercially. Although maybe something to look into.

You do see quite a few used/lease returns trucks sell in Texas etc. Might try searching listings in area's that are close but a 'reach' but not too far to travel to. Friend of mine won a decent old backhoe from a county auction (sealed bid), years back another bud won a Ford Contour at a public auction that had been dolled up for the presentation. Ended up having some serous mechanical issues that were obviously in-house patched that I caught after the buy and it was returned. He was excited about the deal and savings, and wanted me to give it a look over and a grade. They honored the 'mistake' and gave him another car..

Point being, for me, it may depend on who/what/where the rig is and what it was used for. I'd just feel more comfy if I checked out a vehicle prior to any bids, or, could have it checked onsite or even at a local shop before getting financially involved. More so if traveling is part of the plan for a buy..

I don't mind flying out for a place that has a good rep for selling descent trucks. That's why I was thinking Texas might good a good place to start. I have started with Auto trader and getting some names of used dealers in the area. The 11's are still a few thousand high. Might have to wait a few more months,

If you are near a Ryder Truck Rental location, talk to them. They may be able to direct you to their disposal dealer. In the past their vehicles were well maintained and had to meet certain requirements when traded or disposed. They will usually direct you to the agency even though not being able to sell to you directly.
