steering wheel jerk

the complaint is when turning the steering back to center from a right turn, loses control of the wheel as if he's turning the wheel and nothing happens till he turns back right then left and then the wheel jerks like there is play in the front end. did inspection and found both front wheel bearings, left upper and lower ball joints and steering dampner all needed replaced. did that and alignment. he says it is still happening. I can't make it happen and have inspected at 2 different places. any ideas?

I would suspect we are talking about a truck that has 4WD, but have to stop there. Need more info like year make, model etc.

more info would help. Is this a high mileage 10 year old vehicle?

One possibility is a worn out spool valve in the steering gear...fluid bleeding off into the wrong circuit causing improper operation of the p/s assist.
