Default F250 4wd problem

I'm having a problem with my 96 F250 going into 4wd while driving. Specifically, it usually does it if I make a right turn. You can feel the tires are different and hear the sound the tires make when it's in 4wd. The light on the dash doesn't come on but you can feel the difference. When I stop and put it in 4wd and then drive and then take it out of 4wd it stops. Only to do it again when I make a sharp right hand turn.

I have had a few people tell me that I need to change the hubs to manual. What parts do I need and how much should they cost? Why is it doing that too? Seems like they would have had a recall on that because if you let it go it can be very costly to fix and replace right??????

Sounds like you have an actuator problem that locks the front axles in and its not dissengaging all the way. Could be electric or vacum operated.
