2005 ford five hundred ltd awd hard shift from park to reverse and drive, fan on
 

I am having an issue with transmission and fan, this problem comes and goes. Car will drive fine for a few days then start acting up again. When car is acting up the fan is on high From the moment the car starts, the transmission bangs from park-reverse-drive and car will not drive properly, very sluggish and high rpm with jerking. When the fan shuts off the issues go away. This is only when fan on constantly and high. Car throws multiple codes as well. Fan off or on low no problems. I know the car runs and drives fine I have switched pcm and fan. Anyone experience this problem and if so what fixed it? I'm new here thank you everyone for the tips.

I’m having same problem. But nothing to do with fans. I looked at the fluid it’s black. I only have evap and fuel pressure codes. Gonna fox those and go from there

A good part of the time when we get multiple codes , it could be a poor ground that affects multiple systems. Good move to check and clean all the grounds you can see and find.

Well I found the culprit! Motor mount. The one in front. Gonna order it off Rock Auto and replace it! So glad it isn’t trans!
