Seriously considering an 06' Five-Hundred

I have found a local 2006 Ford Five-Hundred SEL for $9900. It has 13K miles and is highly optioned and also has leather. Why is it so cheap? Well it has some left side body damage, but it is all sheetmetal damage and has a clean title. The fender has some minor dents, as does the 1/4 panel on the same side. The doors will need to be replaced. The seller said he can get the doors (both of them) for $1000. Car is completely driveable as-is and I would just keep it like that, but for warranty work it may need in the future, it may be best to get this repaired. Also, the driver front door will not open from the outside.

For some reason, the "airbag" warning icon light was illuminated, but the airbags have NOT been deployed. What would cause that?

I test drove it and I really like it. I did not experience any of the symptoms that I have read here about these cars.

Thanks for any info/advice!

The quarter panel is the worst of the damage. The door would allow leakage if torqued and bent too badly. They are really cool cars. I especially like them painted black. Maybe see if you can get the quarter repair thrown in the deal - or try for a couple bucks off because of it - unless he'd be willing to throw ina front fender or something.
