Our 500 won't kick the trunk lid open when you unlock it. This is our first 500 experience but all the Taurus' I've dealt with before would knock you down with the trunk lid when you hit the button. Anybody know what kicks this one up? Are we missing a spring or something???

 

You probably won't see that happen like the 2007 and older Taurus/Sables. The trunks on the 500/Montego & 2008 Taurus/Sables are heavy and have short trunk struts for "Lift Assist and Hold". Like my 2008 Sable, the trunk just unlatches and sets there. All the 500/Montego's and 2008 Taurus/Sables we checked/test drove were like that. The 2007 and earlier model Taurus/Sables were spring loaded.
