Vibration while accelerating

Hey all, I've got an 06 Five Hundred 3.0L fwd. When I'm pressing on the gas pedal, I can feel a vibration sort of like somethings grinding or rubbing on something. When I let off the gas it stops, and when I re-press it, it starts again. It's worse when it's colder outside, and when it's hot it'll barely do it.

What could this be? I've googled this 100 times and it's never a straight answer.

Thanks in advance!!

I would check your CV joints. Their boots which may have torn , leaked grease and allowed dirt and grit to enter the joint thus destroying it. I would also check for any damaged or sagging motor mounts which would change driveline angles creating vibration. Other things can create a vibration but these two I would believe are the most common.

Yeah motor mounts make sense as sometimes the engine jerks when I shift into gear. I was reading through other five hundred threads when I saw something similar.

The reason you can't get a straight answer is because certain checks need to be done and to say definitely it is this or that is not wise without actually looking at the vehicle.

When the engine is cold it has a higher idle speed and that could contribute to a poor motor mount problem. So after the engine warms up and slows down going from park to drive may not be so pronounced.
If you have the engine running with the hood open and a person inside the vehicle having the parking brake applied and the foot brake applied , have them put the shift selector into drive and observe from a safe distance , you might see the engine rise . Depending on if it rises a lot versus slightly can indicate a motor mount problem.

I have dealt with a lot of bad motor mounts. If they are broken, as you test it, you will see the engine jump like it is going to leap out at you.. Some might fill their trowsers if they are not expecting it.Sagging mounts are basically still intact. You will have to do further checks to see if driveline angles are affected due to the sagging.
