No warning sound when I leave lights on; no interior light when I open driver's door; no icon for 'Door Open' on dashboard - can anyone tell me what is wrong and how I make it right, please?

Thanks to those who responded to my problem about lack of warning signal when lights left on etc. We have discovered what the problem was! Just for info - within the driver's door catch, there is a rubber switch, which activates the items that were not working. Probalby needs replacing it as it's very sticky and overly sensitive, activating said items only intermittantly. But problem solved!
