2012 Focus fuel economy

I am planning a trip to New Orleans from Toronto in Feb. and am wondering if there are any easy things I can do to benefit my fuel economy. It is dead stock right now, except for Mobil 1 5W20 oil and a Wix filter? Are there any cold air kits or chips available?

Thanks!

The average cold air intake cost about 200dollars, and the car computer will cope for the extra air by adding more fuel. So yes you may get a less restrictive air pathway, but I don't think you will see a big increase in mpgs.

If i were you, I would take that 200 dollars and use it toward the fuel. Its better to learn how to drive more efficiently.
When I say that i mean:
1) Control how much gas you give the car when accelerating from a stop.
2) Cruise control on the highway
3) It makes no sense to have a drag race to every stop sign
4) It makes no sense to continue accelerating when coming to a red light, coast.

Stuff like that will help you when it comes to fuel economy. I drive an awd truck and by following these steps Ive cut my fuel consumption by a large amount.

hello 2 dor, sounds good but do not do that! I would do nothing but stock parts and regular maintenance. I find the engine to be powerfull enough as is with the dct backing it up. You might mess up a warrantee if you put some chip or device in it. And the cold air would give them more reasons for voided warrantee.

lesson I learned a long time ago. {dont hot rod it till its paid for.}:)
ww
ps Ill let you know in 5 years if the dct holds up to a turbo.
