2013 Focus "click-click-whir" when you open a front door

Anyone else experiencing this with a 2013 Focus?

Anyone know of an available fix? Ford service says to wait for a "possible" software fix that may never happen.

Suggestion :
Try to find/ pin down exactly where the clicking is originating. Touch, feel and listen for where the noise is loudest. You may be doing some of their job, but once you pin it down they may look further into it.

I also have a Ford Focus 2013 that had the same problem. ITS FIXED. Yesterday I brought it in and they reprogrammed the computer and the click click click whir noise is gone. The TSB said it only affected early focus built before a certain date. The TSB is TSB 13-4-18. It took them 2 hours plus to verify that it indeed do the click click whir and do the reprogramming. Heres a pdf file for TSB

13-4-18 Repeated clicking noise from transmission after opening the driver’s door and/or using the key FOB to unlock the door, prior to starting the engine http://www.fordservicecontent.com/pu...sb13-04-18.pdf

Thanks for posting that there's a fix! I had a Focus in for the noise early in the year. Wish I'd known about the TSB months ago, it's just annoying. Just made an appt. to get it reprogrammed. Thanks again...

Thanks again jhp... Had the reprogramming done yesterday. MUCH better now. Just a slight click now that's hardly noticeable when a front door is opened. Nothing compared to the annoying way it was. It was a long time coming but I'm glad it's finally done...
