2014 focus s parts in 2017?

My friend is worried that they used an incorrect part in her car. Her family went to get it fixed and they said it was a 2014 Ford Focus s instead of a 2017. I would assume the folks at FireStone would realize what kind of car they are working on, but who knows. Is the 2014 model similar enough parts would work on it? She hit a curb and damaged a tire/rim, I am not sure if anything else was fixed. I am asking because she is afraid to drive it.

Some things are not as bad as they may seem. Even though they should know one year from another an error could have been made, but not likely !!
To remove any concern suggest that you or her call the place and confirm if this could have been just a typo error not something else. Just bringing it to their attention should alert them of a possible problem, which, if so, they certainly would not want to be responsible for any damage that could occur. There are times when certain parts fit many models. We would hope that the person doing the repairs would question if the new part was different from the one removed. Depending on what was replaced some auto supply stores might be able to tell you if those parts replaced are different for different years. Many times just a phone call can clear up any doubt.

Thank you. I was going to call them in the morning to make sure that the part they bought would work fine. I too doubt they made an error.
