Green light on dash - "O/D Off"
OK first off make sure you do not have it turned off,its the button on the left side gear shift, 2nd make sure your MAF sensor is not unplugged sometimes when you change the air filter it will become unplugged and this will cause the trans not to shift into O/D on the Focus, and last but not least the wires will sometimes break below the shifter shaft and to fix requires removing the console and fixing the wires
YES.. SAME PROBLEM. but mine is a little bit more complicated.
the o/d will switch on and off by itself. at some point it will flash the green light saying off.
and i can not get it to come back on. the button is un-responsive.
i also have some other problems but this is my main one.
Battery light comes on, batteries do not last... the battery cables on red side have melted in 2 different spots.
car will somtimes not start. what i have to end up doing to get car started is take a hammer, wrench, rachet, or plyers and tap the red battery cable then eventually it will start (normally)
"Key tumbler" in steering colum will not turn unless you hit it a couple times (3rd time replaced, i gave up)
This model has had several recalls but when i spoke to ford they said that MINE was not involved in recall.
BTW I can not afford to get another car i want to get these things FIXED. but i need to know how
