Starter Problem...
Hi,
I have a Ford Focus 2000, 4 Cyl 5 speed. When I turned the key to start the car there is no 12 V going to the starter. If I connect a direct cable on the starte and the batery I can start the car ... I check all the fuses and they are ok ...
I was wondering if there's any relay hidden between the starter and teh batery ? I search for any relay in between and I can't see nothing.
Help will be appreciated,
Thks
Regards,
Mario..

I'm not really clear which cable or wire you're jumping to get the car to crank over. Is it the main power cable at the starter or is it the small wire at the starter?
If you're jumping the big cable, it sounds like you may have a bad main positive cable which is only servicable in a new battery harness.
If you're jumping the small wire to get it to start, you may want to take a look at the switch at the clutch pedal. It makes it so that you can only start the car with the trans disengaged(safety). If the switch goes bad, or was knocked off somehow, it won't allow the car to start.
