1986 F150 5.0 Turns Over, Will Not Start.

Help! Truck was running ok for the most part. But I knew that the midship tank fuel pump needed to be replaced, so I dropped the tank, and cleaned it out and replaced the pump and strainer. when everything was reconnected, and filter replaced, even replaced the fuel selector valve, engine coil, frame pump...I have fuel in the injector rail but it acts like it is not getting fuel, will turn over and try to start, if I use starting fluid it will start...but then die out because it appears no fuel passage to the throttle body...Also FPR has been replaced....How would I know if I need a TPS or a Distributor? Thxs in advance...

Is the 8th digit of your vehicle VIN an "M" or an "N" ?

Also, when you first turn the key on do you hear the fuel pump run for the usual 2 seconds ?
