I have a 2005 Ford Five Hundred and i get ERR and odometer reading on bottom display. The top i set for various settings, like trip. It used to tell me what direction i was going, E, W, etc. I followed the instructions for Compass display on p 61. Turn off all electrical accessories, vehicle doors shut, open area free from steel structures and high voltage lines.
1. I turn ignition on.
2. Start engine.
3. Press INFO button until Compass and Odometor are displayed. I don't see Compass displayed but top of message is blank and of course i always have odometer reading. What does Compass displayed look like? On page 62 i don't see "CAL 000000.0. and i don't see heading information.
4. I move on and determine my zone.
5. It says I should press and hold the RESET until the message center display changes to show the current zone setting. I don't see that. and I don't see "RESET FOR ZONE UNFO TO EXIT." as shown on p 62. When i press and hold RESET i see CHECK COMPASS.
6. says release the RESET control, then slowly press down again. How do you press slowly?
7. says press SET control repeatly until correct zone. I don't get any zone displays.

From 3. on it's not working. I don't get the displays an there isn't a SET control.
