Confussion
I have a 1997 thunderbird 3.8. When I first crank it in the morning it idles rough, when it warms up it looses power, backfire through intake, and on ocassion the tail pipe. I check my spark plugs and they have some black sticky sutt on them. I have replaced the O2 sensors, bank 1 & 2, EGR valve, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel regulator valve, MAF, head gaskets and intake gasket, spark plugs and wires, and changed transmission fluid and fiter. I have done a fuel pressure check and compression check, everything check out good. Ford dealer said it may be my ECU but I am hoping someone will know what my issue is before I go that route.
