Crank no start problem

I have a 2004 Ford explorer sport trac 4.0
I've replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, mass air flow sensor. Coils fire, plugs fire, fuses ok and relays ok.
Still no start what's going on with my truck. Please help me

We know an engine needs fuel , air and spark at the right time to run.

So we check for them . One quick safe way to get some of the answers is to remove one or two spark plugs and see if they are wet or dry.
If wet , fuel is getting into the combustion chamber, If not fuel supply problem. If dry, ignition system problem.
Which condition did you find?

Plugs were dry now what

OK, we seem to have a fuel supply problem.

Do you hear the fuel pump run for the 1-2 seconds when you first turn the key on? Yes/No ? If no, recheck work with fuel pump installation Power and ground check also.

If yes, check for power to injectors (12 volts) with the key on. Yes/No ?

Did you check the inertia switch for being tripped ?

[QUOTE=Tina barber;140960] had plugs checked , they were dry. So what could still keep it from starting

Tina barber 03-24-2024 09:15 AM

I have not checked the fuel cutoff switch

hanky 03-24-2024 09:17 AM

If after attempting to start the engine and it did not start and the plugs were dry, means no fuel is getting to the combustion chamber.
No fuel=no start.
