ICP broke off

Howdy all, 2004 f250, when replacing ICP (mounted on oil rail) it broke off right at base. I had to drill it out. Seating (for , o-ring) looks fine. But I know I've some metal shavings inside the oil rail. I will try to flush it out best I can - but....

So a few questions. Where does oil flow from rail, back through filter, before heading on to sensitive destinations. The icp is situated on the passenger side (not the former 03 & early 04s, on the pump), I can, if the driver side rail empties directly to the oil filter, swap the rails. I had just finished installing the stand and dummy plugs on the passenger side. And plan to do the driver side in any event.

So anyone know the actual flow of oil, and any suggestions on cleaning the rail out would be appreciated.

Also, the ends of the rail, they are shaped like large hex heads, over an inch, inch & 1/4 perhaps, does anyone know if they unscrew?
