lost without my compass!
 

Hello- I'm a new member, and I'm also at a loss about my compass. Can someone give me some direction???
In March 2009, I purchased used- a 2002 Ford F150 Supercrew 4x4 truck, with 61,000 original miles, in MINT condition!! It's got the 5.4 liter, Triton V-8 engine, with the FX Off Road package. (My husband won't drive it, he says it's a "girlie" truck, because it's too clean!) Go figure!

Anyway- my overhead compass started "flickering" (fades in & out), about 1 month ago. It is currently off. Eventually, it will come back on, but normally, it won't stay on long, before it goes back out.

The dealership said I could bring it in, they'd hook it up to the computer, and retrieve the codes, to know exactly what's wrong with it.
Bad thing is, I don't live close to the dealership.
Someone else said, to check the "Smart Junction Box," and check to see if the "ground screw" needs tightening. Where are these located? What am I checking the "Smart Junction Box" for?
Are there any other connections to check, other than at the rear view mirror? Can you tell me, where the compass sensor is on the truck?
Note- The outside temperature display is not contained in the overhead console. I have the EATC system.

I'm really lost without my compass:( Can anyone please give me some advice on this issue? I'd be forever grateful! ;)
