2004 Freestar Horn & Cruise not working

I have a 2004 Ford Freestar where the horn and the cruise control switches are not working on the steering wheel.

I can't swear to it, but I think the controls quit working when the spring on the turn signal switch broke.

The horn does work when I lock the car with the FOB.

The steering wheel was grinding and popping when I turned. Given the fact the steering wheel controls didn't work and the noise when I turned, I figured the clock spring was the problem.

I replaced the turn signal switch (Duralast) and the clock spring (Ford OEM). Steering wheel is much quieter and the turn signals work, but still no horn or cruise control from the steering wheel. I can still activate the horn with the FOB

Any ideas what I might be missing? Thanks in advance!

I would check the wiring in the steering column to see if something has broken or come unplugged. After that I would check to see if the horn/cruise control are on the same circuit/fuse and check the fuse. On a previous vehicle I had the horn had 2 circuits to it, 1 circuit was from the steering wheel and the other was for the alarm so if the fuse for the horn blew the alarm system could still activate the horn but the steering wheel could not.
