2005 Freestar RPM dropping & squeaking

Good morning,

I am having a problem with my 2005 Freestar. It drivesperfectly fine until I reach about 2200 – 2400 rpm, when it makes a squeaking noisecoming from the front right. At that time the rpm is dropping and I have to getoff the gas to stabilize it. I had the sparks, coil pack and serpentine belt replaced, but that did notsolve the problem. Do you have an idea where to look next?? I assume replacingthe belt tensioner might help, but I am not sure and would like to hear theopinions of the experts.

Thank you very much for your help.

Does it sound like a bird chirping? It sounds like your Camshaft Synchronizer is going.

Thank you for your reply and comment. I was thinking aboutthe same thing, but wouldn’t that affect the injection at all-time not onlywhen going past 2000 rpm? And it doesn't sound like a bird. It's more likestepping on a cat. :)
