Code P0193
Have 04 Freestar SEL 4.2. Getting P0193 (fuel rail pressure sensor circuit high input). Sometimes can drive several days and no code. Then engine light comes on and same P0193 code. Have replaced fuel filter. Can you tell me if this is just the sensor that needs replacing or the fuel pressure regulator? Where is the sensor located and how do you check the pressure. Also, have noticed a vacuum leak sound. How do you check to find the vacuum leak -- could this be the problem with the sensor reading? Thanks.

getting the same code, anyone ever figure this out?

code means fuel rail pressure sensor circuit high. Could be bad wiring to sensor or you need a new fuel rail pressure temperature sensor. We had to replace the sensor. Cost $200 plus labor - takes less than an hour to replace. Located (as you face vehicle) on passenger side near firewall. It's a small unit. Hope this helps.

well i took it to the dealer since i had a bunch of money on my owner rewards account. turns out they found water in the wiring harness (i took out the pcm previously and found no signs of water intrusion). they dried it out, sealed it all up and sent us on our way. wife said its good so far and its pouring down rain today.

guess i spoke too soon. i dont notice it hesitating or bucking, but the darn check engine light is back on with the same code set.

I have a Freestar code U1059 that the ABS circuit is not communicating with the instrument cluster. Any ideas what specific problem that could be?
