Engine Exchange for 1979 Ford

I have a 1979 3/4 ton F250 wit h a 460 motor. My question and what I need help with is...
Can I put a 1979 Ford straight 6 in? Will it bolt up to my automatic transmission?

i dont think it will due to different bolting patterns
