Ford freestar no reverse engagement

Hello I have a 2007 Ford Freestar with 70,000 miles. The reverse is not engaging, it is acting like it is in neutral. Drive works fine, shift gears smoothly. I have switched the EPC and TCC solenoids and that has not fixed the issue. I also switched out the transmission fluid. I am thinking about changing the PCM. No codes. I would greatly appreciate any assistance or thought on this matter. Thank you

I would not change the PCM, for several reasons. Some are, there may be an internal trans problem that the PCM has little or no control over.
If you replace/ change the PCM , you need to program the replacement to your particular vehicle or it will never start , anti theft system will see to that !
AND that sequence may wind up costing more than repairing the trans problem.
We don't know at this point if the correct signals are getting to the trans nor do we know if there is a defective mechanical component in the trans.
I would think after a few checks if they prove out OK , the trans will need to be opened up and inspected or possibly replaced.
