Front Dash Cigarette Lighter Fuse
 

Does anyone know the fuse number and where it's located that controls my cigarette lighter outlets? I had them replaced and now they've blown again. I don't feel like paying Ford another $50 to replace the fuse.

You have 1 cigar/cigarrette lighter (right side) and 1 power point (left side) below the radio. These are 20 amp each. The cigar lighter (as Ford calls it) is fuse #57 and the power point is fuse #63. These are located in the main fuse panel (rectangular black box) under the hood next to the battery. The fuses are of the MINI FUSE type.

What are you plugging in that is taking out a 20 amp fuse?

thanks common sense, I really appreciate that info. Saves me taking it to the dealer and paying them $50 for something so simple.

Long story, but when I bought the car 2nd hand they were already blown and I never bothered to replace them until my son got an ipod. I got the fuses replaced at the dealer ($50!!!!) and then just had back luck when I was removing the charger from one of the outlets. A piece of the charger fell off and got stuck in the outlet????? I went to scoop it out with a pen and I could see the spark at the back of the outlet as I removed the piece and I knew this couldn't be good. Sure enough, it blew the fuse.

I think I'll keep his ipod charger out of these outlets in the future.
