Default my freestar wont start

Hello to all ~

I am not to up to date on newer cars and options that might be available for batteries. I am trying to decide if my battery is frozen from the latest freeze we had. I noticed yesterday that my clock had reset itself and then this am it wont start. Someone said to warm the battery. The freeze was actually last week but it is still really cold here overnight into the mornings. Anyone that can give me a little run down on the freestar (2005). If it is the battery does that mean it is a goner now?

You need to place a voltmeter on battery and watch while someone cranks ignition. If voltage drop to anything below 10 volts in the crank mode then the battery has dropped a cell, and will need to be replaced.

Not to argue with wheelssup68 but at cold start the battery can be fine even if the drop was below 10 Vdc. However, if the engine does not start and the voltage does not rebound in 10 to 15 seconds the battery is probably bad. The best bet is to take the car or battery to Sears, Autozone or the like and have it tested.
