Default Noise from back, wheel bearing problem?

Hi,

Recently got a 2004 Freestar SEL. There is a speed related humming type of noise coming from the rear of the van. That's why I did a tire rotation and try to feel play (wheel bearing) when the vehicle was on the jacks. Did the tire rotation and didn't feel anything wrong with the wheel bearing. However, the noise is there. Still, I can not think other possibility than the wheel bearing. Is it possible to have a shot wheel bearing even though my initial test was negative? Thanks.

Your description sound like a wheel bearing going on you. They won't always have any play. I replaced both rear hubs on my 2004 Limited 2 years ago since the R/R was growling (no play). Figured, one going, the other maybe shortly. Problem solved.

Thank you for the feedback. I took the minivan to a small shop and the technician pointed out it is coming from the passenger rear wheel hub/assembly. Changed that one and the noise is gone. Other one was good, so we skipped that one.
