Angry 2004 Freestar torque converter recall

Once upon a time...... Anyone else had to have their torque converter replaced after ford did the recall on their POS torque converter and replaced it with another POS? The replacement POS lasted 15k miles. I did. What did ford have to say? Guess? SOL consumer. 12 months or 12k miles - what a worthless warranty, but not unexpected.

This is the last ford that I will ever buy and the last time that that I deal with the local phuquing dealer.

This is exactly why I sold my 2007 Freestar right after the dealer replaced the torque converter. The '07, unfortunately, is not part of the recall although it should be. I am hanging on to my repair bill in the event NHTSA recognizes the many, many complaints about the 2007 model year. But I'm not holding my breath.

Same here, not holding out much hope though, and the legal challenges for 06 & 07 models have for the most part been denied / dismissed due to the recall on the 04 & 05. 06 & 07 owners are generally screwed.

Angry 2006 Ford Freestar

I currently own a 2006 Ford Freestar. Just last week, driving home and stopped at a light, my transmission went out, no warning. I had it towed home, and since then have been researching the Internet, to find several people who have experienced the same problem. I contacted Ford ( of course NO response) so I contacted the BBB, as I feel this is very bad business for an automobile company. I have filled out paperwork for it. I just wanted them to admit their wrong doings, and man up to their responsibility, and fix this.

Default 2006 Freestar torque converter

While driving 40mph my van suddenly without any warning, lost acceleration. I have 78,000 miles. This is crazy to have a problem like this, that could have been deadly if on the highway. My van is sitting in my driveway, unable to accelerate, and I'm car-less!! I did notice on my doorframe that my parts were made May 2005. I got the 2006 van in May of 2005. Would it be covered under the recall?
