Good morning Forum! I've been offered my choice of an '06 or '07 Freestyle as part of a payment for work I've done. I don't know much about them specifically or in general. They both look good, interiors amazing but both have transmission issues. '07 Doesn't engage or appear to do anything. '06 will engage late but told not worthy of another shift so test drives are out of the question. I'm good with the value of the barter but if it is just another car on my private "death row" it won't be worth it. Seeing and reading alot about these transmission challenges. First can anyone refer a good (affordable) source for a rebuilt or other donor model that could be a worthy search, including estimated costs. Second, assuming all things equal anyone have opinion if there were much difference from '06 or '07 models to lean me one way or another? Last, is there a parts market out there if I choose that path! Need to pull the trigger by the end of the weekend. Appreciate any feedback!
