2018 Fusion Titanium 2.0 Eco AWD - stuttering wheels
Okay... picked up a sweet deal on this car with only 11K miles on it. I've never had an AWD though and am wondering if something I've noticed is "normal" or an issue.
I noticed a few days after I picked it up that when I make a low-speed sharp turn (i.e pulling into or out of a parking space) that the tires rumble/grind/shudder like a 4WD on pavement. I turned on the Intelligent AWD display screen and watched during various driving conditions and saw that it performed as I expected on the open road but when I got to the parking lot, it indeed engaged the AWD during the slow speed turn-in, causing the rumbling noise as the tires rolled at the same speed on both sides. Shouldn't the AWD disengage and the differential slip so it doesn't grind the tires?
...or is this "normal"?
