Persistent Break Issues
 

I have a 2013 Fusion SE. It has just over 60,000 miles and my rear breaks have gone out again for the second time. Twice within 40,000 miles. Both times the car never gave a squeak warning just the grinding from the metal to the point where new rotors are needed even when caught early.

I have taken the car to a trusted mechanic and ford dealer. Both said that it must have just been the Parking Break that was left on, but that hasn't happened both times. Has anyone had a similar problem with their car? If so what did you do to fix it?

Would love a response, because at this point I'm thinking of just selling the car because I also have the electrical issue if you're aware of that.

Many newer vehicles with stability control will wear out rear pads and rotors if the system is constantly trying to correct for driving conditions and circumstances.
Some vehicles have the option of turning off that feature, not sure if yours can do that, but it would help shed some light on possible causes.

Have the rear slide pins been pulled out of their boots, cleaned up and greased? The Fusion is prone to the rear slide pins crudding up and not allowing the brakes to fully release. Just had that issue on the rear brakes of our 2016 Fusion (40,000 miles). Slide pins crudded up and inner pads were almost worn to the metal backing plates.
