1969 mustang with a 5.0 mustang swap quetion

Hello,

I was wondering if I can get some good advice about some stuff on here about a motor swap I'm consider doing. I have a 1969 Mustang with a 351 cleveland and a C-6 tranny. Its at the point where things are leaking and its ready for a rebuild. but I have a opertunity from a friend who owns a shop that has a 93 or 94 ford couger with a 5.0 engine and has the Aod eletronic tranny in it. Its in fully drivnig running condition and well maintained. But it has suspention issues with needed some replacingment and needs a brake job and owner just wants to sell the car for $300 bucks. It has over 200,000 miles but runs really good. So I thought about buying it and rebuilding it then putting it into my mustang. I really thought it would be cool. The only issue I have with it is the who Ecu and eletronic part of the whole or deal and I was hopeing maybe some people had some insight on the whole thing would be willing to share they did or how diffecult that would be??? I'm pretty good on working on cars. I've been around the block lol But I don't know if I should attempt it? What do you guys think???

That swap will work I did it once in a 1980 Lincoln Town Car.Use the engine wiring harness from the Cougar back in to the Mustang. You will need a rear sump oil pan and pick up tube, the 351 engine mounts will work on the 302.You will need a gas tank for fuel injection or external fuel pump and also run a return fuel line and high pressure rubber fuel lines.I would use the accesories and brackets on the Cougar in the Mustang. The Mustang radiator will work. This is a fairly easy swap and I hope this helps.

As long as you are replacing the entire assembly (engine and tranny), should be no problem. Have done the electronics on this kind of thing for friends of mine and it is no more than plug it in. After the swap, you may want to do some fine tuning on the computor system to get the most out of it (i.e. performance parts)(tuner), but that will be a see what works best, scenero. The fuel system parts your looking for are available. Just check around for performance parts. The fuel lines will be the most fun, because this is a high pressure system, Have fun[sm=groupwave.gif]
