Default Ford Shelby Mustang GT-350 v.s GT-500

Hello Everyone,
It is my understanding that the Ford Shelby Mustang GT-500 is a more desireable car than the 350, yet despite being more popular, it is not necessarily much faster than a 350. I'm sure this has to do with the weight difference between a 500 cubic inch and 350 cubic inch engine. Does anyone else on these forums own one of these rare beasts, or know of anyone that does?

The classics from the 60's. I don't really care for the recent ones that have come out in the past couple of years.

The 350 and 500 have nothing to do with the engine. Originally, the 350 tag was determined because the Shelby's were assembled 350ft from the rest of the plant.

Both are quite rare to find an original. There are a bunch of kit cars out there, so you would need to match numbers to make sure your were dealing with an original.

Interesting. Actually, now that you mention it I do remember seeing a tv program recently about Shelbys and they were saying that about the Shelby's being built 350ft away from the rest of the plant. Nice cars, doubtful I will every be able to afford one though.
