Twin Cam Timing Chains
 

Looking for any feedback with respect to timing chains "jumping" off the gears. Mustang with"twin" cammer, 4.6?.More specifically, the right side only. Didn't build unit, but am involved now. Unit had 2 builds, both for same issue.Went back after 1st chain issue to original builder and nowended up here.

Do believe the pressure-fed tensioner is related. It is NOTin "relaxed" state however and NOT "jammed" in any way. I haven't dissassembled unit yet, but I assume it's a "pressure-fed" deal at the tensioner?Chain"left" both previous timeson deceleration. Possibly while oil-pressuresees a low point fromno oil available at pickup!

ALL "chain-guides" were replaced from1st build. Am looking for chain "length's" at this time.

is this a dual overhead cam swap, heads to regular 4.6L block, if it is the reason this keep happening is because the actual dual over head cam engines have dished pistons and a lower deck hieght, so if you used those heads on a two valve 4.6L with stock pistons(possibly flat top and higher deack hieght) the valves are going to hit and break a gear or chain, hope that helps
