427 HEAD AND CRANK IN A 390 BLOCK

IM A HUGE FORD FAN AND I OWN A 67 SW RANGER. IT CURRENTLY HAS A 390 MOTOR BUT I CAME ACROSS A SET OF 68 COBRA 427 HEADS AND CRANK AND NOW IM LOOKING FOR SOME KNOWLEDGE ON HOW TO MAKE THE TWO MATE UP AND PERFORM IN SYNC. IVE HEARD THAT IT MAY NEED TO BE BORED OUT .60 BUT I WAS DEBATING A LIL OVERBORE AND SLEEVING THE MOTOR. IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION ON HOW TO MAKE THIS DREAM A SUCCESS PLEASE FREE TO CONTACT ME BACK.

THANKS,
GARRET

RE: 427 HEAD AND CRANK IN A 390 BLOCK

Your project can work, built a 4066PKthis way.I used to have a "Ford Performance"book with a yellow cover for big blocks that had excellent information regarding the "FE" block parts for 352-428's. Your 390 crank, rods and pistons are dimensionally different from your 427. Excluding bore; c-c of crank throw, c-c on rod length and piston pin location for deck clearance.
