what chip would work best on a F450

I have an F450 which I need to do something with because it is killing me with at 7mpg. I have a friend that has a bully dog chip on his new F450 and now is doing 14mpg in the city and 20mpg in the highway. I have also heard about the live wire for the truck but do not know anyone that can tell me if it is good or not on the mpg. I know both will give me performance.

You get 7 MPG out of a diesel? Do do a lot of towing/hauling, drag racing, or ideling. I thought the diesel could manage decent numbers.

I can't recommend a chip based on experience, but the you might could get a lot of info out of a Diesel perforamce magazine. Then look up the web site for different chips /tuners and/or call their tech line to further gather info. Ideally you want one with different stages/tunes. Like a economy setting, perforamance setting, and towing setting. That was a little over simplfied, but I know Banks offers a Six Gun with 6 different power levels that can be changed on the fly.
