The tailgate on my 2000 Ranger is really hard to close. I mean I literally have to slam it shut and still some times it bounces back at me. Is there anything I can do to make it easier to close? Thanks in advance for your advice.

 

firstly, check to make sure the tailgate is square in the frame, and then check to see that the locking mechanism is hitting on the locking plate. it works like the doors in your home, if its off by a bit it wont work.
