1999 Ford Ranger

I have a 1999 Ford Ranger and my door locks will not work with the key, it is almost as if the lock has been stripped and the key will not turn from right to left. Also my automatic door locks will not unlock nor lock my doors from the clicker or the button inside. Is there a fault in this model or is this something that isnt frequent? Also if anyone has any idea how much replacing these would cost or if the labor could be done myself that info would be appreciated also. Thanks

Could be you latch is froze up. Does the lock actuator make any noise or slight movement in the unlock knob?Have you been unlocking with the key fob and now the key itself will not open it? You might try lubing the latch assembly with wd-40 or some other penetrate.

The lock actuator makes noise I guess, whenever i hit the button on the key fob or the button inside for my power locks they seem to try to unlock or lock just not enough power to do it. also i was using the key fob and when that quit I started using the key now that has quit for the most part.
