2001 A/C Problem
OK so the A/C has a mind of it's own. Placed on Max A/C or just A/C at times it will come on and is very cold (suction sweating back and all) will continue to function until I turn the ignition off. When I
restart it will not work until IT wants to. I am not getting power to the clutch, I have bypassed the Hi and Low pressure switches to no avail, when tested they had no power running to them. So I need a schematic (where can I find one) and any other suggestions would be appreciated. Are the thermostat and switch (A/C, Heat and Defroster) electrical or vacumm controls? Thanks |

Have you checkd all fuses and fusible links? I agree a schematic is a great idea - provided it's got the colors and you can read one.

Thanks all for replying
Haya where is the A/C clutch relay on this unit ... this is the 4.0L six cyclinder. Another thing we noticed today it seems to come on when the truck is jarred. My thinking is that it may be a faulty cluth, weak shim or such. |
RE: 2001 A/C Problem
I sent you aschematic remotely .. Let me know if you got it.. It may help with a 'pin point' test for current along with wire color/s..

RE: 2001 A/C Problem
Could have jarred the relay.

Haya ... the big dog of mechanics ...... hail to Haya. Oh yea I didn't get the schematic but I switched out the A/C relay with the Washer relay (same part number) Bamm it is working.
Thanks, in Florida here you saved my life Would still love the schematic if you get time knotez1@msn.com |
RE: 2001 A/C Problem
Our email is down..
The schematics are in sections, like power/circuit distributuion on out to the clutch,, all the way from the CJB/BJB (excluding fan function ect). Then there are blower control/ temp panel details. I sent just the power so you could pin point test for current along the way.. If you want all the diagrams let me know.. As soon as our email is up and running I'll send them again.. Glad it was a simple repair.. The best kind! |
