94 Ranger Heads

I'm doing my head gaskets on my 94 Ranger and found a crack in one of my heads. I'm going to replace them but was wandering if I can put 3.0 head on a 4.0 block? If so do I need to change anything? Thanks for the advice i advance

Head gaskets have different part#'s, so I would think no to your question.

Different ducks..

where/how bad are the cracks? Not reparable?

Psycho 12-29-2019 02:42 PM

The crack is on one of the coolant passages going to the outside of the head next to the middle exhaust port

Has a machine shop looked at it to see if they can drill/tap/pin the crack?

Im cheap so Im looking for a shop that will look at them for free, but having no luck

If the crack is external only, they should be able to eye ball it and tell you if they can pin the crack.. Most shops will give it a quick look and give you an estimate without charge..
