97 Ranger SES light

Hello I am new to the Ranger world. Is there a way to check the code without the OBDII reader? I know on some cars there is an igniton switch sequence that will let you check the code. Is there one on the 97 ranger?

got to either autozone or advance autoparts and have them run your truck and see if they can figure it out. they do it for free also.

I agree, go to AutoZone or the like and have them scan it if you don't want to spend the approx. $100 for a pocket scanner, they do it for free in hopes you will buy your parts there.
