99 3.0L Ranger will not start
OK, here is my problem. I am from Atlantic Canada and in order to pass a vehicle inspection, we need our DRL. I was told that it was probably a DRL module. I took the battery out to look for the module.....no luck. As I a an amateur do it your-selfer, I did not want to get into the wiring, so I decided to put the battery back and take the truck to a mechanic to fix my DRL problem. Well, when I went to start the truck, nothing happened. The dash lights come on, but nothing....not even clicks from the starter. I have tried a new battery, but no luck. I had someone come in to check out the wiring, and no luck again.
Is it my starter? How can something that worked perfectly before I removed the battery not even turn over when I replaced the battery. I am at a loss right now.
ANy help or advice would be immensely appreciated!

Did you get the problem fixed? I just bought my Ranger, same year and model as yours and almost the same thing has happened. I was driving it last night, parked it. went to start it this morning and it clicked once, then that was it. The dashlights are on and the battery is fine.
Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I did get the problem fixed. Turned out the security system reset itself and the keys needed to be reset (chip inside that is). since I only had 1 key, I needed to buy a new set costing me extra $$$. Yeah, for such a simple problem, it cost me extra. Hope this helps

If you have a drain then the seller probably didn't tell you everything about the truck, if you're lucky it's just an old battery. If you're unlucky, you'll have to disconnect the battery every night, or get a solar charger.
