Default baby seat

anyone install a child seat in jump seat area of 2004 Ranger ext cab. 6 Month old grandson gets to ride shotgun when it's just him and grandma. Grandma refuses to ride in the bed. If no wat to do it safely I will buy a new truck.

I'd have to say that's a huge NO. There's not enough room behind the seats for a rear-facing infant seat (the only seat a child under 1yr should be in), and placing it sideways doesn't provide the head/neck support the baby needs. It looks like, outside buying a truck with a real backseat, either you or the missus will be riding on the jumpseat.
