Blinker buzzing

'98 Ranger XLT - 6cyl 2wd
My blinkers are acting funny. Started with just the left now both do it occasionally. If I gently put them on they are fine, but if I just normally turn them on they don't blink and just buzz. Any idea of what the problem is and what the fix would be???

I'm looking to sell the Ranger soon and want to be able to disclose all problems first.

I have the same truck as you and I've had the same problem. Your turn signal switch is likely to be worn out. I bought a new switch assembly for $40-$50 at O'Reilly. Problem solved.

Thanks for the info. Pardon my ignorance, but is it technically referred to as the turn signal switch assembly? Just want to be sure I'm looking for the right part!

Thanks!!
