There are several way you can clear the check engine light in these trucks. First, you could have a scan tool connected to the truck to see what the trouble code is and have the problem fixed. Once the problem is fixed you can have the code cleared which will make the light go out. Second, you can disconnect the battery for about 5 min. and reset the computer, however if the problem has not been corrected, the check engine light will come back on, once the computer picks up on the problem again.
