Default weight sensor override?

did a search and couldn't find any info. i have a 2001 ranger that had the 60/40 bench seat. i installed some explorer buckets and now the air bag light is on.the old seats had a weight sensor on them and the new one's don't, which is why the light is on. does anyone know how to override the weight sensor so i can get rid of the trouble code?

You may want to look into finding some GenII seats that will connect up. The weight sensor does not just turn on and off the bag deployment it also tells it how fast to deploy. IE if you rig it and need it, it could work and bust your nose or work and not stop you from eating the dash. The GenII needs your wieght to protect you.

Have you tried to see if the sensor in the original seat is transferable to the one you installed?

thanks for the replies.all the mechanicals for the power seats are where the sensor would go. i was thinking of just plugging the sensor in and putting it behind the seat, but that doesn't sound like a good idea now. maybe it's just better to leave it out.
